Releasing white doves at an outdoor memorial service is a beautiful way to symbolize the spiritual flight home.

A flock of fifteen white doves is released to circle the area, symbolically awaiting the arrival of their loved one. A single white dove is then released from the grave site. The lone dove wings after the flock in the air. Joyfully joining the others, it makes its final journey home.
